Nairobi was the first Church to participate in the Chance for Africa Program. There are about 50 Students from Nairobi being sponsored by Disciples from San Antonio, Dallas, Kansas City and Memphis.


Our goal is to have a permanent Sponsor for every Student. So, please consider sponsoring one of them. Every Kid you see on this page is waiting to be sponsored



GASHON WAMBUA

Gashon has been a familiar face in the applicant list in the past. He has one remaining year to finish his Diploma in Pharmacy and it has become extremely difficult for him to clear college. He works as a casual laborer to support his mother who is a widow and who lives in extreme poverty and his siblings who are still in school.

BARNABAS ODIOWUOR

Barnabas comes from a family of 8 children, his mum is a disciple who lives in their rural home in Kisumu, both his parents are peasant farmers and have very little earnings to support the large family. He has one year to complete High school before he joins university or college.

ALVIN NGIGI

Alvin’s parents are separated and he lives with his mother and 3 other siblings. His mother does casual jobs and small scale business to sustain the family. Alvin will join form 1 in January, 2012.Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

EVELYNE APIYO

Evelyn is a disciple in the Nairobi Church. She and her twin sister are in High School form 2, but currently out of school for lack of school fees. Their parents work as casual laborers and can hardly support the family especially in as far as school fees is concerned. Kindly assist Evelyn to go back to school, she may need
to rewind one class for better grades in her final exams.

KAREN OWINO

Karen is going to sit for her Primary education Exams this year. She is from a single mum’s home; her mum is a disciple in Nairobi Church Who does casual jobs to meet the needs of her family. Karen’s only hope to join High School lies on someone sponsoring her. She is a very diligent girl Hard working and doing well in school.

Fridah is from a family of 3 siblings and a widowed mum who does casual jobs to raise money for food and shelter. Fridah will sit for her Primary Education this year and will be joining High school in January 2012.

Dorcus comes from a poor family, her parents are disciples in Nairobi Church, they mainly depend on casual labor to sustain the family and pay school fees.

RICHARD NDIVO

Richard’s parents have 3 other children in School and are unable to pay school fees for all of them. They don’t have stable jobs, hence the strain of educating all of them. Richard walks long distance to school and has a challenge of always being sent home for school fees.

VICTOR NGOYA LUNANI

Victor is a young disciple in Nairobi. He finished
High school in 2010 and was invited to join a teacher
training college in Western Kenya this year. Victor is
an orphan who have struggled and had to overcome
many challenges to finish High School. He is hoping
that someone will be kind enough to sponsor him
through his 2 years in college and get a job.
Victor lives in extreme poverty hopes to support
his siblings once he is through with college and as
he gets a job.

Geofrey comes from a poor family both his parents are disciples in Nairobi Church and have no stable jobs, they rely on casual jobs which are not able to sustain the family and pay school fees.

KEVIN ONYANGO

Kevin’s mum is a disciple in Nairobi Church. He has been in and out of school for lack of School fees. The parents are unable to raise his
School fees since they are needy and their source of income from casual jobs is not able to rise Enough money for their livelihood and for school Fees. Kindly assist them to have their son go back to school.

NELSON ATUNDO

Nelson’s dad is a disciple in Nairobi Church, his father works as a casual laborer and is unable to sustain his family and pay the school fees. Nelson will do his Primary Education Exams end of this year. His passing exams will give him an opportunity to go to High School but considering the high cost of living and the needy situation that the family is in, he needs help to be able to join form 1 next year.

BRIAN MWENDA

Brian is a very bright boy who has been in and out of school for lack of school fees. His mum, who is a disciple in Nairobi Church is a single mother and is sickly. She is also jobless and when she is able to work, she does casual jobs which can hardly sustain both her and her only son.

SAMUEL MUNYIRI

Samuel comes from a needy family where the Father does casual jobs and the mum, who is a Disciple in Nairobi Church, is a pre-school teacher. She is paid a meager salary that is unable to sustain them and their 3 other children.

SARAH NTHAMBI WAMBUA

Sarah will sit for her primary Education Examination this year for her to join high School next year. Her parents are disciples in Nairobi Church and do casual jobs. They have other kids in High school and due to inflation in the country; they may not be able to support all their children through High school.

Jael comes from a needy family, her parents do casual jobs and are disciples in Nairobi Church. Jael will do her Primary Education Examination this year; the exam is to qualify her to join High school next year 2011.

CONSTANCE MUTHOKI

Constance is a young disciple in the Teens Ministry. She was among the first children to benefit from Chance for Africa and was Sponsored for 4 years. Constance finished school last year 2010 and was admitted in a Government medical college this year. Her parents are very needy people who live in one of Nairobi slums and are unable to raise the school fees for her. Kindly help.

CELESTINE MALOBA

Celestine is a disciple in Nairobi Church; Currently she and her twin sister are out of school for lack of school fees. Their father is a casual laborer who has four children to take care of. Belinda would really love to go back to school, she’s currently in 2nd year in High
School and she most probably would have to repeat a class behind once she receives support for her school fees and in order to prepare well for her final Exams.

Pauline Waigumo

Pauline is a very bright girl, her mother (Lucy W. Mwangi) was working but unfortunately was laid off from her job. She is a single mother of one child and currently looking for a job, she does casual work to sustain her and her daughter. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
